Have you been to BeWILDerwood?

This huge forest adventure playground in Cheshire is filled with wooden mazes that spiral up into the trees and back down again; massive climbing frames with rope bridges, treehouses and slides, entertainment areas where staff read stories or help with crafts, and so much more - all based around the books of Tom Blofeld.

As the weather had been a bit damp we pulled on our wellies and embraced the puddles - fortunately it didn't rain while we were there and many of the play areas (swings, slides, etc) were under the trees.

Our favourite bit was the Sky Maze, which was massive! We also enjoyed playing on the zip-wires, crafting an owl, watching a storytelling performance, and building a den - and the food and coffee was pretty good too (not unreasonably priced either, which is always a bonus at places like this).

There are several toddler-friendly parts of the site, and a couple of playgrounds that are not as challenging as other areas; we did also see plenty of older children there who all seemed to be having a fab time as well.

All of the structures felt very sympathetic with the site, made of wood and rope, and many of the play areas themselves were based around the use of twigs, leaves, and pebbles. Along with the mud and drizzle it almost felt like a giant festival site (which, to be fair, would be amazing!)

We spent about four-and-a-half hours there, which felt like a good amount of time before Oli started to get too tired. Prices are based on height, and range from £20.50 - £22.50 with a senior discount for over-65s and little ones under 92cm go free. This was Oli's birthday present from her uncle, and it was such a great family day.
